Story Behind the Song
Willow claims this song is probably the most truthful expression of her inner self, and how she viewed the world as a teenager, and subsequently a young adult. Her slanted cynicism shows, offset by her soulful vocals, which some have told us remind them of a young Pat Benatar. In order to flesh this song out, I pretty much took Willow's melody line, which she uses in the vocals, and doubled it on my bassline. The two former members Roland, and Nick filled in the blanks on both congas and guitar, respectively. As an aside, this song first came to life as a Dionysos tune, back when Willow was our lead vocalist. When she left the band, she took it back. The least I could do to honor her in our new band was to make this the first Albenesh song ever recorded. You can hear it as track one of "PREHISTORY".

My World-
by Beverly A. Bolton (of Albenesh)

I was born in a world full of toxins and sinners
People on drugs, only losers, no winners
Defecit of trillions, and taxes as high
Rigged ballot boxes and politicians who lie!
Oh, what's wrong with the world?
How'd we get so low?
What's wrong with the world?
Sinking down deeper, this evolution's not slow... no, no, not slow.
Prejudices are common in this melting pot
When the immigrants came here they thought this was the spot...
...But they were wrong.
...Yeah they were wrong.
These streets aren't paved with gold
No, this nation of ours, no national pride
A government that sends you on a roller coaster ride!
(Chorus)
The news is still free and gossip does fly
No wonder the youth can't wait to die
The drugs and the violence run rampant around
No one cares or the lost would be found!
(Chorus)
(Lead- guitar)
The days of depression and misery go on
And any hope for the future is gone
What happened to our hopes, dreams and cares
Their necks have been broken being pushed down the stairs.
(Chorus)
For a wonderful life, we'll have to pretend
So it is written right here...
...It's the end.
