Story Behind the Song
I wrote "We Remember" after the tragic events of September 11, 2001 to help me work through the feelings of sadness, helplessness and anger the attack brought on. I hope it helps you, too.
You can help the Red Cross by purchasing a copy of the song on CD. I'm donating all the proceeds to them.
Lyrics
We remember 11 September, watched the towers collapse
We remember 11 September, the Pentagon played Taps
We remember 11 September, a Pennsylvania field
America will always remember, but we will never yield
And now we cry for those who died
So many gone, but we'll go on
Tuesday morning innocence vanished, terror from the sky
Families ripped apart from their loved ones, left to wonder why
Mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, never coming home
And the brave policemen and firemen, the heroes' light they shone
A coward's ploy, the lives destroyed
Justice is due, we'll see it through
We will not rest, complete this quest
A nation torn will be reborn
America, come together, let us come
America, come together, join as one
America, come together, let us come
America, come together, join as one
We remember 11 September forever in our hearts
