Story Behind the Song
This song was started in the Summer of 1998 while Elton and his family were on vacation in Colorado. Larry Holder assisted with the lyrics. The wonderful recording was made by Sue Morton.
Lyrics
(Verse 1)
I praise You, my Father,
In Your unchanging grace.
My very life You do sustain.
In service and honor,
In living every day,
Your praise and glory I proclaim.
(Chorus 1)
Until Your kingdom comes,
I pray Your will be done;
May all creation praise
Your holy name.
(Verse 2)
I praise You, my Father,
In Your undying love
That reaches out and shows the Way.
You sought me, and found me,
And brought me safely home;
You turned my darkness into day.
(Chorus 2)
I give you everything;
hold nothing in reserve.
My heart and soul I bring
to carry out your Word.
To You alone I call;
You are my Lord, my All.
A living sacrifice
I'll be for You.
(Verse 3 and Ending)
I praise You, my Father,
In Your unchanging grace.
My very life You do sustain.
In service and honor,
In living every day,
Your praise and glory I proclaim.
Your praise and glory I proclaim.
