	Story Behind the Song I was so inspired one day, after listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan, that I ran to my guitar and let this song pour out! I just started playing around with VII (seventh) chords. The chords, melody, and words just spilled forth. Usually it takes me forever to write a song but this came together in about 30 minutes. Lyrics “Don’t get so excited,” she said, “You got to take it day by day.” “What you don’t understand,” I said to her, “is that I’m not that way.” “I can make it fine on my own whenever you get ready to go.” “But the way that you lied to me babe, is like a straight shot through my soul.” “Right through my soul.” I was there when you took My Friend and then I said it wasn’t me. You led Him out in the scorching sun and then we nailed Him to a tree. He shined the light of the world on high as I walked through the valley below.
