Story Behind the Song
Well, an ex-girlfriend of mine
was a bartender, and getting her to
originally go out with me was a bit
of a struggle. In the end, So was getting rid of
her. Anyway, I had this silly organ
riff and a hook inside my head, and I
had run out of other ideas. So this is
what came out of all that.
Lyrics
Let Me See You Dance
Scoping all around like a good boy should
Found my little biscuit with the attitude
Serving cold Corona with a Cuervo back
A heartache on two legs doc might just attack
The top of my list is where the trim is found
But she's ready to shoot me down
Chorus:
Let me see you dance
I wanna watch you move
It's just a game of chance
Let's make that understood
Whatever's on your mind
Ain't something you should sweat
I think I'll ante up
If you can take the bet
Let me see you dance...
Been around the block and some points in between
Check the White Circle and you know what I mean
But shoot me up with lovin' and just watch me drown
You'll be the only game in town
One production meeting wound with circumstance
I said "Where's the party?"
"Well, it's in your pants!"
Chorus:
Let me see you dance
A step would do you nice
What would you men do
Without some real advice
Let me see you strut
Let me see you jive
What have you got to lose?
You just might stay alive
Let me see you dance...
We can sort it out now with a brushback pitch
Only two things that smell like fish
