	Story Behind the Song The song, as was the case with all ATS songs, was written out of some form of frustration, over many pots of coffee. We recorded it along with 11 others on a rented 8-track recorder in the spare bedroom of my old high-rise apartment and really pissed off my neighbours. Of course, it would have been worse if we really had a human drummer. Notice the Henry Rollins sample at the end - he never shuts his mouth, so we thought it would be appropriate. Notice the overkill on the echo - vocals tended to sound flat in a crowded small bedroom, so we juiced up the echo...perhaps a little too much! Lyrics I'm gonna shut up I'm not gonna tell you the truth Because you can't handle my truth Without mangling it and using it against me Too late to communicate You can't understand my reality You just take it apart And wield it like a crowbar And smash some sense into me Shut my mouth You were young at first glance But it seems the 3-piece suit Of adult sensibility suits you fine And I'll cross you out As a true friend of mine Shut my mouth
