Story Behind the Song
The chords for the chorus came to me a long time ago, probably around 1979. The words had to wait to be written in 1987. Song is a somewhat humorous attempt (at least to me) to portray how ridiculous it is to hold onto a very bad relationship with someone else, something most have experienced at least once in our lives, and to various degrees.
Lyrics
This city
has a way to lose you in it's wake
It's not too late, now to make a wish
Another summer, of pretty glitter
You can drink the water
go on, it's not too bitter
Attachments! All we want is no Attachments!
No Guiding Light to see us through the night!
Attachments
One love:
the idea, it seems so really nice
So open up, and say what's on your mind
Your life, is so intertwined with mine
We're such a bomb waiting to explode
We've known each other for so very long
It seems ironic I have to sing this song
How can I tell ya, ooh just how I feel
You can't convince me
your doubt, that it ain't real
Your life
is so intertwined with mine
we're such a bomb waiting to explode
Another summer, of pretty glitter
You can drink the water
go on, it's not too bit
