"It's Gonna Find You" | genre: Ska | |

This was our "Heavy Soul" tune. It's a bit of a rocker, and the Ska end of the spectrum takes the back seat. |

Story Behind the Song
This is kind of a dumb song. The lyrics sound pretty cool, but it was written about the dangers of taking heroin. That's not so bad, only it was written by a 20 year old Mormon kid that had never done Heroin in his life, and didn't know anybody who had. Since Heroin is never actually mentioned in the lyrics, let's just pretend it's about being complacent, which is what I started telling people when I got embarassed of my sophomoric attempt to make a social commentary about drugs. Take all that away, and it's just one of those songs with cool lyrics that don't mean a damn thing, which is really what it is. Still a cool song, even if I do say so myself.
Lyrics
You've been thinkin' about it baby
And I know just where you're at
You might think you can handle it
But I know you will drop it just like a hot rock
It's not the kind of thing you can take home
And it don't matter once you've tried it on
(chorus)
It's gonna find you
It's gonna have you
It's gonna own you
It will become you
It will relax you
While it controls you
And it don't matter
Who you belong to
You might think you are the boss
And it will humour your assumption
Then it will work inside your mind
And wrap around your brain just like a tumor
She's not the kind of girl you want the folks to mee
And when you dine with her, she always will want more
(repeat chorus)
(sax solo)
The whole world will one day
Be entirely upsidedown.
And left will be where right was
And north will be where east used to be
Your velvet pillow will be blocks of stone
You'll try to get away, but nothing can drive fast enough
(repeat chorus)
