Story Behind the Song
Doug came over and laid down a mean guitar track and some bass, I wanted him to do the whole song by himself. God, I was digging this song and dying to get at it, finally after about 6 weeks, I asked him if I could do some vox and acoustics, he said "go" and off I went. I feel sorry for kids today, the world can be a horrendous place. When life is kickin' the shit out of you, go get help, not everyone is lucky enough to have friends get help for them. You have to want it on your own, it usually means you need to make a change, don't be afraid. High School is a joke, a serious joke while your in it, but 2 yrs. later you won't give a damn, everyone is immature, and just a young adult. Give yourself some time before you give up. And if you are gonna kill yourself, kill just yourself, that's part of being free. Just don't take anyone else with you!
Lyrics
When I was a boy,
I couldn't tie my shoe.
I looked at girls,
But didn't have a clue about what to do.
Oh man you know it's plain to see.
When I was a boy,
I couldn't tie my shoe.
And the kids at school,
You know they were so cruel,
I played the fool.
Oh man, you know it's plain to see.
Oh man, you know it's plain to see.
Teenage shootin' blues.
You know it's all the same to me,
Either way I choose.
You know it's all the same to me,
Teenage shootin' blues.
You know it's all the same to me,
Any way you lose.
When I was a boy,
I couldn't tie my shoe.
I needed help,
That's why I came to you, show me what to do.
Oh man, you know it's plain to see,
You know it doesn't have to be,
Oh man, you know it's plain to see,
Teenage shootin' blues.
