Mystery and frustration is created by something unknown that calls his love away to a secret place every year. This soft and beautiful melody leaves many questions unanswered.

    Story Behind the Song
One of those songs that wrote itself. I usually write the lyrics first then the melody. In this case I came up with the title first then both words and music came at the same time.

I wanted the chorus to stand out from the verses so I tried the Enya style multiple tracks of my unison voice to build a very full yet soft sounding chorus. It gave me some interesting contrast between the verses and the chorus.

    Lyrics
    Fire Mountain
    BMI ©Copyright Michael Peace 2001

She goes up on Fire Mountain
Round this time of every year
And it's a secret she won't tell me
I don't know if I want to hear

There's a mystery all about her
I can read it in her eyes
And it's there in her knowing smile
For beyond her years she is wise

    Chorus
    Fire Mountain is calling
    Fire mountains winds blow
    Fire Mountain is calling
    Calling her name

She picks all the new flowers
Ties them up in a bow
She kisses me on my shoulder
To Fire Mountain she must goes.

I can see a tear in her eye
    As she opens the door
She say's not a single word
As she walks out once more

    Bridge
    He must have been something
    He musta been more
    For I cannot hold her
    Inside of my door

High on top of fire mountain
I had too know why she came
I saw the flowers she had laid there
By a stone with no name

    Repeat Chorus
