Story Behind the Song
Yes I really did know a very sweet girl named Micky, who only served to confuse me in my dating years. We started to be close once but never were, you know the story. This song was an attempt at capturing that ambiguity while writing a contemporary 50's song, with lots of sha-na-na's. So why am I putting it on a country album ? Something about the "oldies" aspect of this tune made me do it... plus I didn't know where else to put it. Really a very nice song.
Lyrics
Micky
(C)2001, J. Eshleman, II BMI
I don't know where you come from,
I don't know where you've been,
I don't even know, if I can go through this again,
I don't know if you need me,
I don't know what you know,
I think I should leave, but then I can't seem to go,
(chorus)
Oh Micky, tell me how you feel,
Oh Micky, say is this for real,
I don't want to leave you tonight,
Ooo, sha-na-na-na-na
Ooo, sha-na-na-na-na
Ooo, sha-na-na-na-na-na...
I see the bits of clover,
I see them in your eyes,
Whenever we part it's like we don't say goodbye... (chorus)
Oh Micky, I've waited for you such a long long time,
And know you could take me tonight... sha-na-na-na-na-na...
Take my tonight... aa-ooo... (chorus
