Lyrics
SOUTHWESTERN SPLENDOR
©1981 by John G. Fausett
I am the land of desolate wonder
Deep blue skies, and great summer thunder
Many are the colors my regions will render
Call me by name, the Southwestern Splendor
Southwestern Splendor
I am the land of the cactus and pine tree
Shimmering desert under lofty peak scenery
I'll change my mood, often without warning
Smiling in the sun, then suddenly storming
Southwestern Splendor
Southwestern Splendor
Nature's never known a greater variety
Of fauna and flora in a rugged society
From sunlit saguaro to snowy ponderosa
Peregrine falcon to the monster of Gila
Southwestern Splendor
I am the land of desolate wonder
Deep blue skies, and great summer thunder
Many are the colors my regions will render
Call me by name, the Southwestern Splendor
Southwestern Splendor
Southwestern Splendor
Run, run, run, for the
Splendor's overtaking you
Run, run, run, for the
Splendor's captivating you
Run, run, run into the fiery sunset
Run, run, run, but it will capture you yet!
