Story Behind the Song
Another song that Susan Mack and I used to perform in New Orleans. I've tried other arrangements of the song, but this one is driving and direct. The vocals are doubled in octaves, a technique I've always liked, and the drum sequence is one of my best fo r a tight rock feel..
Lyrics
You've got some tricks up your sleeve
The marks on your cards are showin'
But I don't mind being deceived
By an imposter with spirits like you
By a woman that looks like you do
Come in from the cold tonight
My curtains aren't made from iron
It would be p erfectly right
With an agent as quiet as you
With a woman that looks like you do
(chorus) Chasin' the dragon
"Yellow candy papers, you want?
Only two dollars,"
(Then he smiled), "Yes, and
Blue is three American."
The Hong Kong trade is mine
But I'm perfectly willing to share
Some information and some wine
With a spy with secrets like you
With a woman that looks like you do
