Story Behind the Song
Err...I hate explaining lyrics......
I guess this is one of those songs where it means whatever you want it to mean. I started off writing it about an ex-girlfriend (who shall remain nameless...) only for it to move somwhere else, back again ad infinitum, so there's odd lines that refer to completely different things. Yet it all seems connected somehow...I'll let you decide...

Lyrics
Is it time to change,
Another way of looking at things,
Thats what I'd hoped to believe.
I'm looking for a feeling,
A flicker of emotion,
But the clouds inside make it too dark to see.
If I couldn't have coped I,
Wouldn't try to deny it,
Wouldn't take the option of a cheap excuse.
If you want a reason,
I'm not sure I can answer,
I've still got far too much to lose.
So I look for a way to redeem myself,
And I look for a way to erase the doubt,
But I lose the fight again.
Hey dreamer,
Do you believe in what you say,
Reinventing your life, every day.
I'm sleeping,
Amongst the ashes of faith,
In a love, taking too long to die.
A loss of feeling,
Goes unnoticed for a while,
Until it hits you all at once,
I'm too far gone now,
Too far gone to even try,
Hide behind don't-give-a-damn eyes,
As I turn away,
Deny I'm just as much to blame.
It's easier, for me to step outside.
Frustration builds,
With perhaps a sense of slight relief,
An inability to break the mould.
So I look for a way to believe myself.
And I hope for a chance to explain the doubt,
Put my world to rights again.
Hey dreamer,
Do you believe in what you say,
Reinventing your life, every day.
I'm sleeping,
Amongst the ashes of faith,
In a love, taking too long to die.
Running into the wind,
Losing all sense of direction,
As the circle begins again, I want it to end,
I don't want us to end,
But I can feel I'm slowly losing control.
As I look for the hope in another girl,
Take a look to another world,
Go and lose the plot again.
Hey dreamer,
Do you believe in what you say,
Reinventing your life, every day.
I'm sleeping,
Amongst the ashes of faith,
In a love, taking too long to die.
