A beautiful combination between brilliant songwriting and Bach counterpoint/classical guitar. This track boasts acoustic guitars, African handdrums, keyboards, voice, and flute to give a fresh and unique sound unheard of before. Concept 6 combines a deeper spiritual/conceptual statement from the lyrics with advanced theory to present a clear and honest picture of Concept 6 is all about. |

Story Behind the Song
Just where is the line between helping others for our own gain and helping others
for Love? In the biblical story, Jesus heals a friend named Lazarus who had suffered from an
extreme case of death, 4 days running. He knew he had the power to do this, but the point that
struck me is that he cried with the Lazarus’ family first. Whether you believe the story was
metaphorical or not is not the point. The act of hurting with someone and restoring someone in the
proximity of pain and sorrow is my definition of true healing. The first step I have taken towards
non-visual living is to get out of my bubble and get into the lives of people who need people.
Lyrics
Just a cardboard sign and rags, was all that she had
All she saw was the back of it
Like no one who met her eyes could understand
When I saw her standing there with tears in her eyes
She looked straight into mine
Like someone ripped out my heart with a knife
I drop some change and walk away with tears in my eyes
How I helped was just skin deep
What she needed was blocked by selfish pride
Just a dose of sympathy and a little empathy,
Gives us the ability
To truly touch a heart and set it free.
When Tears collide, that's when healing arrives
Lazarus walked from his grave
When tears collide, that's when power comes alive
The spirits of people get saved
