	Story Behind the Song Marvin brought the poem to the group one day in rehearsal. Gradually, we put it all together pretty quickly because we could really relate with the picture he painted of a child who sees their mother involved in yet another relationship and is happy for the mom, but suspicious as well. There are basically three verses, or acts, the first and third from the child's perspective, and the second a narrative about the boyfriend, with the finale being the mother acting out getting herself ready for her date.
