Story Behind the Song
The song was written after my brother made the cover picture of the turtle. I don't know if there are any bhajans dedicated to Korma, so I wrote my own. Also I had the chance to use some of collection of Indian musical instruments. My wife helped me with the lyrics since my Hindi isn't all that good. In a snap decision, "Korma" later became the name of the band.
Lyrics
Korma apse pathi per
Korma me duniya ko
Korma se duniya ko
Kaliyug se bachayahe
Jaya ho Korma
Vishnu kai avatara
Korma holds the world on his back
Korma protects the world from harm
Praise to Korma, reincarnation of Vishnu
Wallace: vocal, harmonium, shanai, tablas, rain stick. Dan: bass. Kirk: drums. Ray: tambora.
