Story Behind the Song
This song was performed by the band Lightly Toasted, when it consisted of Chris Hall, Tim Densmore, Josh Siegal, and myself. It was written one day after a long practice session in the last days of the band The Doozers, which featured Mike Cefalo, Paul Feissner, Chris Hall, Ashley Deforest, and myself.
Lyrics
i whispered to here softly,
but she could not hear.
my motivation kept me driving,
towards here inner fear.
oh...i put away my pride,
oh...and touched her lips,
oh...they never part right,
oh...i can not tell you this.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
sitting by myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
talkin' to no one else
rockin' back and forth slowly,
sitting by myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
talkin' to no one but myself.
trying to convince her,
oh, i must do unto myself,
of what could should happen,
if we heard words spoken.
oh...would we want to change,
oh... would you bite your tongue,
and take back these words,
again and again and again.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
sitting by myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
talkin' to no one else
rockin' back and forth slowly,
sitting by myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
talkin' to no one but myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
sitting by myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
talkin' to no one else
rockin' back and forth slowly,
sitting by myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
talkin' to no one but myself
rockin' back and forth slowly,
sitting by myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
talkin' to no one else
rockin' back and forth slowly,
sitting by myself.
rockin' back and forth slowly,
talkin' to no one but myself.
...talkin' to no one but myself...
