Story Behind the Song
From what ever walk of life and however successful we become, we all have imperfections, things we would change about ourselves if only we could.
It may be a disability, sexual identity, our appearance, financial burdens, memories of an abused past, chronic depression and so on but our way of dealing with the problems that hound us are generally the same.
Sometimes things that mentally torture us are just far to painful to talk about so we punish ourselves by pretending to the outside world that nothing is wrong whilst in private we crumble.
We tend to fear that people on the outside will not understand or be able to empathise with our worries and problems so as a consequence when we are asked "How are you" we put on our bravest face and pretend that we are fine when really behind all the smiles and jolliness lies a very lonely and vulnerable human being who is crying out for help but too frightened to share those burdens.
It is truly a song from the heart and will strike a chord with anyone who has gone through or is going through these emotional traumers.
Lyrics
Everybody's looking at me
They all see me smiling
But behind this painted smile
I can't stop myself from crying
Oh these tears of a clown
They fall so hard when there ain't no one around
And alone I face my tragedy
Where my heartbeat is the only sound
Chorus
It is hard to see the light
When you face the dark of night
I wish that I could win this fight
I wish that I could win this fight
I've been suffering in silence
I've been silent for too long
I'm looking for a reason
To Keep me holding on
I've been suffering in silence
And it's a burden hard to bear
Sometimes I get so caught up in
How it all just isn't fair.
Chorus
Solo
Oooooh, ooooooh, oh yeah, fight
C
