    Lyrics
Why'd you have to wear that dress in the rain
You know me better than that
    I'll be your midwife
    I'll be your sex life
There are things I cannot contain
You wear that dress out in the rain

Why'd you have to wear that dress in the rain
You got a lot of nerve
    This ain't your birthday
    You don't get your way
There are things I cannot explain to you
    These are hard times
    Stick in the baselines
Don't say you're sorry, don't say it's all in vain, don't wear that dress out in the rain

    Double, double, toil and trouble
    A one-night stand and a three-day stubble
Those boys on the sidewalk got water on the brain
You're standing around laughing and wearing that dress in the rain

Why'd you have to wear that dress in the rain
There's tricks your eyes can play
    This is your hometown
    This is your nightgown
And all I do is sit around here and complain
    This is your medicine
This is your next of kin
And you're standing around laughing and wearing your dress in the rain
Wearing your dress in the rain

You've got the corner boys singing:
    This is the first time
    This is the hard line
    This is the last call
They don't play baseball when you're standing around laughing wearing that dress in the rain
    Oh, you were so cool
    Child, you were old school
    I'll be your old clothes
Darling, I'll be your red, red ros
