Story Behind the Song
Wrote it in Egypt, in the early 80s. Inspired probably by Donovan and/or Bob Dylan.
Seems to me now that it came out of nowhere then, though this might be a wrong impression, which makes me suspect that it is an unconscious steal from somebody else - Donovan or Leonard Cohen, I suspect, though I've never heard the song/parts of the song sung by anyone else.
So maybe it is mine after all.
In any case, this lingering doubt is very annoying. If anyone does recognise it, please let me know!
