it's a song i specifically wrote on my acoustic guitar, and i won't play it any other way. it's kind of sad at times, but it's supposed to be positive. |
CD: that's your song too

Story Behind the Song
i wrote this song after talking to one of my online friends. i don't remember what prompted me specifically to write all of this, but it was directed towards him, and his trying to understand me. he tried to, and i just let everything come pouring out, and i think that maybe people aren't prepared for it, when i do that. so in the song i'm saying i don't need your help, no, you don't have to understand, and then turning around and saying 'yknow what, maybe i'll take you up on that, because i'm pretty bummed'. so there.
Lyrics
now i can't stop myself
all these things are pouring out
everything you never wanted to know
you can't understand what i am thinking
don't try to convince that it's so,
cause i guess i'll never know
why you feel you need to understand
i don't want your helping hand
right now i think i should be alone
but i don't want you to go
did you expect everything about me to be perfect?
that i'd never change, and twist your world this way
what a mistake on your part
but don't take any of this to heart
cause i'll never know
why you feel you need to understand
but i don't want your helping hand
right now i think i should be alone
but i don't want you to go
though you never know what i might do
try to take my life away
but don't be afraid
cause i don't work that way
but i guess i can see
why you feel you need to understand
i'll try and reach your helping hand
cause i don't think i should be alone
please don't go,
please don't go,
please don't go,
please don't go..
