Story Behind the Song
This song was motivated by when I was living with a band in an apartment complex. It was written with a video concept in mind. It was in the days when nightclubs were open 7 days a week. There was a party every night. Women hanging out 24/7. Playing music around the clock. They actually thought that they fit right in, but were really a public nuisance. Anyway it was fun while it lasted. There was happy ending to all of this. They loaded up the truck , kinda like the Beverly Hillbillys, and moved to a new place where everybody loved to rock and party. Of course that part was fictional, but I had to have a happy ending to it.

Music and Lyrics By Harold Day
Rockin’ My Way Out Of My Home
1st Verse
My landlord came over, told me to turn it down
I said, “Everybody’s workin’, ain’t no one around.”
He said, “Stop playin’ that crazy music or you’ll be in the street.”
I said, “Forget all your hangups, and just listen to the beat.”
Chorus:
I’m rockin’ my way out of my home
Rockin’ my way out of my home
2nd Verse:
While listening to my favorite song, I heard a loud knock
It was the landlord , his fat wife, with the neighbors, and the cops
He said, “Get out and take that wild music away.”
I said, “I don’t need this dump, I’ll find a better place to stay.”
Chorus:
I’m rockin’ my way out of my home
Rockin’ my way out of my home
Bridge:
I don’t need this place, I can’t stand it no more
Got to find somewhere, I can call my home
3rd Verse:
Well, we loaded up the truck, going to the new place
They said the people like to rock, you can live at your pace
I can’t live without the music, I’ll go out of my mind
When everybody’s rockin’, it’s so hard to find
Chorus:
I’m rockin’ my way out of my home
Rockin’ my way out of my home
Rockin’ my way out of my home
Rockin’ my way out of my home
Breakdown, Chorus:
Rockin’ my way out of my home
Rockin’ my way out of my home
Rockin’ my way out of my home
Rockin’ my way out of my home
