Story Behind the Song
Hard Symphony
E V i L
"... see that? it's not a bug, it's a feature ..."
Thanx fucking God I've finished it!!! Finally at 18:04 2001.March.10 A.D.!!!
Now we have:
HellFire sound was taken from the screensaver hellfire (http://www.fpsoftlab.com).
The christian choir was got from the vinil I have (I will not describe who actualy sang
because it realy does not make difference).
I've used Waves TrueVerb, Compressor, C1/Comp, EQ for making tracks.
The final mix was made with MaxxBass(agressive preset) and C1/Comp (bass enhancer preset).
The MIDI sound was made with Roland VSC-88Pro useing Standart3 DrumSet, ChurchBells,
Tremolo strings, Church Organ. The Brass section realy sounds pour with Roland, so I've used my
Yamaha OPL3 to record brass, Then I've aplied to it Cake's Chorus with Slightly Chorused preset.
The whole project (as you see) was made for sure under Cakewalk 9.03.
At the begining I've tried to embed into music St.Volodimirs Cathedral bells, but
the recording I've made is too fuzzy to use. Generaly, the idea to write such a music is old,
only now I can say that I wrote only what I wanted to write without any limitations.
Sorry, there is no bass 'cause I am realy tired to compose.
Buy the way few words about my guitar. I've played with DOD FX86 (Super Over Drive).
And I've got interesting tuning of my guitar. I've replaced some strings so I had the next scheme:
6 ~ 5
5 ~ 4
4 ~ 4
3 ~ 2
2 ~ 1
1 ~ 1
So I've got slimer strings and deeper sound. Therefore tuning remained the same. I mean that
the 6th string was tuned to E.
How I made the picture.
I've done it in GIMP. There was a desktop picture (the girl you see) from
www.desktopgirls.com. There was running "hellfire" screensaver. I've got interesting picture.
I've changed the background and draw the title EVIL useing different fonts and droping the shadow.
