A mellow song that would be greatly improved by a string quartet in the chorus (and the ability on the singer's behalf to be able to reach the appropriate notes). A little cleched, but quite simple, with a nice chorus melody |

Story Behind the Song
It's about the kind of people that we forget about unless we want to make fun of them: the kind that sat in the corner and never took part becase they were afraid of one thing or another, or the kind that just kept to themselves in the playground at school. I oringally wrote this about a person I knew at school, then, like some of the others i've written, discovered that it said more about me than the other person.
Lyrics
Little lost boy in the corner
Where did you come from?
Wrapped up in your cotton world
Have you ever seen the sun?
Weave your own way round the playground
Talk to imaginary friends
Will this dreadful loneliness
Ever come to an end?
Lonely, so lonely
Won’t you just us now, dry your crying eyes
There’s a special place
Though it is far away
You can spread your wings
And fly
Little lost girl on the playing fields
Last one on the team
Lucky you even get picked at all
But nothing’s quite what it seems
For you will find that special place
Where you can at last be free
You can spread your wings with all the lonely people
Just like me
Lonely, so lonely
Won’t you just us now, dry your crying eyes
There’s a special place
Though it is far away
You can spread your wings
And fly, fly away
