	Story Behind the Song [Layla comments] My first assignment as a staff writer at Phaux World Entertainment was to work on a hurtin' song with Daniel for a new album. Back then, Phil wanted a boy band sound with lots of vocals; so the country flavoring of the lyric for "It Was Just You" didn't fit well. After Neil came on board the boy band idea went away and our song got included on the album. The idea for this song came from my personal experience. It wasn't so long ago that the boys were always chasing after me. I was thin and real pretty back then. Some of the them got too serious; I just wanted to have fun. I told them whatever they wanted to hear; and, when I got tired of one boy, another one would come along. I never dated more than one guy at a time but I had lots of male friends. I wanted attention; I hated being alone. Then someone turned the tables on me. I met this gorgeous hunk. I really fell hard for him. He was wonderful. After a few dates we went away for a romantic weekend and by the time we got back I was in love. I thought he was too. He was so attentive and caring. We stopped by his apartment that Sunday night before he took me home. Two girls were waiting for him. He said something to them like, "Uh oh, I forgot about you ladies." He went in and called me a cab to take me home. He asked if I minded waiting outside until the cab arrived. It was raining by the time I got home. I still remember standing at the window and crying while I tore up all the photos we took. As I tore the last photo in half I noticed that my face looked like a girl in love and he was actually looking past the camera at a girl in a bikini who had just walked by. How could I have been so naive? "I thought it was just you and me, but it was just you." When I told Daniel that story he suggested that we change it to be the guy's story and his pain instead of mine; he said, "and while we're at it let's give him a lot to hurt about." That sounded like a great idea.
