Story Behind the Song
Well the same old sad story...My husband told that he was leaving, partially due to this whole music thing. So I hadn't slept in 2 days , called off work , drank a few beers and wrote this song for him in day.I thought maybe he'd think about what a gift he was leaving. Well it didn't work so I hope someone rich and famous buys this song.
Lyrics
(verse 1)
If I could have your heart, I'd lock it in my hope chest wrapped in grandma's blanket.
And then if we should part, I'd hold it close to my breast and dance to the beat of it.
(chorus)
Have I lost your love, to whirlpool of anguish and emptiness. If I look to the stars above, to see if your there flying with the solstice. and hopin' that you'll fall back to my arms again.
(verse2)
If you would have my heart, I'd wrap it up in silver, to keep with your precious things. And we'd never part, and live this love forever, dancin' to a gentle swing.
