Story Behind the Song
Recorded on January 8, 1998, when Dave joined Gary and Tom at the new Coyote House Studios in Twain Harte, California. This short little instrumental piece was one of two unused fragments recorded by Dave Raupp for a video project he was working on at the time. Dave was trying to come up with some soundtrack music for the videos. He went through a number of things in the tape library in search of something suitable.
There were a week of sessions held in early January 1998. The results produced very little in the way of usuable material. At the time Gary was trying to record a version of "Monster Mash" for Robert to eventually record his lead vocals onto. All that remains in the Peyote Coyotes archives today is a reference track.
This was Dave's first actual recorded contribution to the Peyote Coyotes in over 4 years. Even though Dave could regularly be found hanging out in the studios on a daily basis for the next three years. His last actual recording sessions were from sometime around August 1993. It is believed that his last Peyote Coyotes session was the one that produced "Necrophilia".
