Story Behind the Song
Groovy little song about moving on, or hanging on, whichever feels right. Sometimes thinking too hard about things makes it all a blurry mess. Think with your heart, especially in love. We were trying to give these words of wisdom to one of the band members, who was going through a frustrating time in his love life. Also, we needed one more song the the CD, and Lisa was still writing lyrics in the vocal booth! Came out pretty good, and has been used on various TV shows.
Lyrics
I saw a good friend today
he was in a bad, bad way
He said: "I really blew it this time...yes, I did.
You see things were going fine
until my baby changed her mind and said she was leaving.
Well, I don't know why we had to fight
should've just said goodnight
oh, sometimes I wonder
did I love her, did I not?
Heaven knows how I forgot
and now my baby's gone.
I said:
Maybe it's wrong
but if you feel that it's right
take my advice
Don't Think Twice...no, no, no.
Now he writes down the bones
hoping maybe the girl will phone
wishing his baby would come back, come back home.
Sometimes it's better to pray
and let life flow it's own way, it's no pushy game.
Maybe it's wrong
but if you feel that it's right
take my advice
Don't Think Twice...no, no, no.
follow the signs
I know you'll do fine
take my advice
Don't Think Twice
It's no great mystery why we lose our minds
from the who, whys, where's and what nows of our lives.
Philosophers and psychics and my mother, too
try predicting what we always knew.
So we make our own mistakes getting by somehow, some way
and lover I tell you, I don't dwell on many things.
You make me happy, you make me smile
and in the end that's the big worthwhile
so to thee I sing...
Maybe it's wrong
but if you feel that it's right
take my advice
Don't Think Twice...no, no, no.
follow the signs
I know you'll do fine
take my advice
Don't Think Twice
