3-chord power pop. Just like most of my stuff. I'm not that great a guitarist. But, this is one of my favorites. Short, peppy and bitter. |
Credits: Grant Bennett -- recording, engineering, mastering, encoding, and everything else that Shaken Moneymaker Syndrome does. |
Story Behind the Song
Took about half an hour to write. The recording didn't come until several years after the writing. Recorded using SADiE and a tape deck. Don't know how many takes, but, man was I on a roll that night!
Lyrics
Let me have the bottle
'cuz I could use a drink.
The whole damn world's inside my head,
and I don't wanna think.
'Cuz thinking means existance,
and I don't want to be.
When my life turns into shit,
I don't want to see.
So, give me double vision.
Make everything seem fake.
Everything's so goddamned trite,
I've had all I can take.
So get me high or get me drunk.
I'm forfeiting my hand.
The way shit's turning out for me,
I guess I'm not the man.
Oh yeah.
I want this to be over.
I really think I'm through.
This shit is coming to a head --
I don't know what to do.
I don't want a final solution,
I just want to get plowed.
Maybe there's a silver lining
In this goddamn cloud.
Oh yeah.
