A song about handling - or not handling - the stresses of everyday life and as a result, "freakin' out." |
CD: Just the Two of Us
Label: none
Credits: Vocals, writing, performance, production - T. Michael Wood |
Story Behind the Song
The lyrics were written several years ago when I was feeling very frustrated about something. I recently uncovered the lyrics and decided to match them with a guitar riff I had been experimenting with. If there's a message in the song, it's that even in a world going crazy, God is in control - if we don't seem to be.
Lyrics
Freakin'
By T. Michael Wood
Copyright 1996, 2001
Bills are due, I've got no dough,
That's way it always seems to go.
You get ahead, then you fall behind,
Sometimes life can be unkind.
(chorus)
And I'm freakin',
I'm in a major stress-out mode.
Everything is stacking up,
And I'm going out of control.
Appointment book is fillin' up,
Got too many things to do,
Too much work, and not enough time.
Tell me what else is new.
(repeat chorus)
I don't know if I can hold on,
Maybe it's time to scream.
Life's been messed up so long,
I wish it was just a bad dream.
Now I've got it off my chest,
Maybe I can get a get along.
Get a grip and hit a lick.
It's time to carry on.
I'm still freakin',
I'm in a major stress-out mode.
Everything is stackin' up.
But I know that God's in control.
