Story Behind the Song
we had some major production interest at the time in the first song we ever wrote together, and had to come up with some additional tunes for a meeting with this wunderkind, just in case he asked "so, what else d'ya got?" so, with visions of giving up our day jobs dancing in our heads, we went back to the basement and just had a lot of fun writing this one.....
Lyrics
Don't Walk Away
I was walking down the street just the other day
When a tall, dark stranger passed my way
They say while the sun shines you must make hay
And he looked so good I just had to say
"Come with me, it'll be all right"
And he came with me until day was night
Chorus:
Come on, baby, don't walk away
I want you in the wildest way
Come on, baby, don't walk away - hey!!
I was roaming up the road just the other night
When I saw a man who looked so right
He had the looks that do invite
And they served to whet my appetite
I said "come with me, it'll be okay"
And he came with me until night was day
Chorus
I was dreaming a dream and it was so sweet
About two young boys that I met in the street
It was cold and dark 'neath the lamplight's glow
So I said "I know of a place to go"
I said, "follow me, it'll be okay
Come with me 'til the night is day"
Chorus
