    Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song for Eva.
Her voice has such a haunting, ageless quality. It's the sort of voice which cuts right through the popular belief that we are just a "one life, one time around, grab for all the gusto you can" sort of a race.
    Hope you like it. David

    Lyrics
Pictures keep falling from my past
Like drops of rain on my window
Lifetimes and loves, I feel the loss
    Blowing through wind chimes medieval

They come to rob me in my sleep
    To steal away my creation
    Pretending gifts at my feet
    These ancient animations

    Who was I then
    Who was I then

A mother stops to talk awhile
An autumn wind fades to Easter
A familiar face turns and smiles
A graveyard mass on the meadow

This one tells me that I must
    Another leads me to terror
Each laid in with such a thirst
For acts I wish not to remember

    Who was I then
    Who was I then

You can not trust you own desires
    Never venture unchartered
    Remain so quiet and reserved
Dreadful harm can come with waves

    Never tell someone your heart
    Betrayal always follows envy
Listen to me, you must be smart
Keep your silence say the voices.
    Who was I then
    Who was I then

Pictures keep falling from my past
like drops of rain on my window
Lifetimes and loves, I feel the loss
    Blowing through wind chimes medieval.
