Story Behind the Song
The actual music for this song was written a while ago, and I was just needing a drum track. One day, when I finally got a chance to record the vocals, I called up Dropjaw and asked if he would play drums on a song for me. All the final edits and mixdowns were performed at Dropjaw Studios in Gainesville. :)
Lyrics
I see, no light
at the beginning of my day.
But you, do what you do.
Anyway.
I hear, sirens-
of the police-
are they, after you?
or are they after me?
You prey, on me,
Like Daschle on the poor.
I'm sick, of this.
Can't take no more.
** Lookin for my way,
through the fog of my crimes
and it ends the same way
with a tear in someone's eyes
the fog is so thick
you could cut it with a knife
and it's going to be this way-
for all my life.
If times, do change
and I'm certain that they won't.
Then what's the point, to pay?
When others don't.
And I, look back.
on all I did.
And I, realize,
it was all useless.
All my, efforts,
were in vain
because, of you.
I'm still in pain.
***Dont you know now it's time for me to walk the plank, and some of you will watch me die with a few expressions blank. Others will always remember all the good I did. I am just some fumigation blowing in the wind.
****Time to, walk the plank
and pay for what I've done.
'Cause I did, every bad thing
Under the sun.
All I wanted, was to get,
my message heard.
Never meant, for anyone,
Anyone to get hurt.
(*** and **** flow on top of each other as a duo)
