Based on a true story found in Trevor Ravenscroft's, The Spear of Destiny, this is a strongly dramatic piece, dense with the feeling of pre-Nazi Europe. Fred Lieder's cello and Don Stapleson's clarinet accent the powerful work of Norm Thorne on drums and Larry Lawrence on bass, while the absolutely stunning piano work of Andrew Cann and flawless Spanish guitar of Cris Chillura form an epic backdrop for Xyra's pleading, emotive vocals. | MP3.com CD: XYRA ... Story Behind the Song
Based on a true story found in Trevor Ravenscroft's, The Spear of Destiny, one Dr. Jonannes Stein recounts his observations of a drug addict occultist, who would soon seek possession of the world.
Hoping to embody the spirit of Lucifer, Adolph Hitler finds his strength in peyote and Parsival, and the world won't know what hit it. The disgruntled x-corporal paints watercolor postcards in the rain, to earn enough money to get a cup of coffee at a local Viennese cafe. The stage is set ... WWII is approaching, but no one really sees that, yet.
The dark forces are working, and it won't be long before the rein of terror begins. 'Did you know the worst can happen, once again?'
Lyrics
In the rain . . . in the rain . . . In the rain . . . in the rain . . .
When the day gives way to night,
He Will Not Hide . . . h e d o e s n o t h i d e !
And when his time, his time has come
A strange wind blows, but no one knows
Who sold his post cards in the rain
In the rain . . . in the rain . . . In the rain . . . in the rain . . .
Viennese cafe bright
Shudders in silence, at the sight
I watched the Beast, so unaware . . .
He was so cold, but not too old
To sell his postcards in the rain
In the rain . . . in the rain . . . In the rain . . . in the rain . . .
The monster knows the game of time
Just when to act, just how to find
The subtle way to grasp the day
Within his realm, he's passed away
To rise again – w e k n o w n o t w h e n !
The Dark Prince resides upon the Earth again,
So Jesus and the Angels and the Saints will rescue us!
They surely must, and we will rise beyond the skies,
But those who stay, they must collapse within his grasp ...
There's a choice to be made!
Did you know the worst can happen once again?
In the rain . . . in the rain . . .
In the rain . . . in the rain . . .
H e s o l d h i s p o s t c a r d s i n t h e r a i n !
