Story Behind the Song
1939 - beginning of 2nd World War. My mother was just 4 years old. Eastern Poland was invaded by the Red Army. Soon extermination and deportation to Siberia of all Polish and Jewish families begins. Despite all of that her whole family survived.
Thanks to their hope and faith then I can live today...
(In 1992 in national finals to the Eurovision contest in Israel this song took 6th place before 3,500 other songs....)
Lyrics
(by Andrzej Gasiorowski)
You , just you....
You think - it's hard now,
That's just the end of your way
No matter, where you are in your life,
And how many problems wait for you
Don't give up
The day will come when you will be free again
Please don't lose your dreams
You are not alone
Just remember, somewhere there is a Promised Land
Close your eyes and see
Soon will come this day
You will leave this place and enter your Promised Land
No, No way
Don't you feel like hope is gone
When you face the world alone
Look inside your heart and find the truth
There is someone just behind you
There is power to survive
There is love to light the way to your home, your Promised Land
Please don't lose your dreams
You are not alone
Just remember, somewhere there is a Promised Land
Close your eyes and see
Soon will come this day
You will leave this place and enter your Promised Land
Please don't lose your hope
You are not alone
Just remember, somewhere there is a Promised Land
Still remember, there is someone
Who will guide you, till you get to your Promised Land.
