The third movement of the Eastham Suite. Its themes reflect the time in history when farmers, fishermen and grinders of corn in townships all over Massachusetts went off to fight at places like Concord and Bunker Hill. The plaintive folksong, Buttermilk Hill, or "Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier" is heard in this piece.
