	i actually managed to take a look at myself here. had to borrow a line from another poem to do it, but i find quotes are very useful for that.

	Story Behind the Song colin mccahon is a genius. he's an artist from new zealand, and he wrote a really cool poem that i used in the first refrain. some people say that people who use quotes have nothing to say. i say that they just couldn't find the words to say what they wanted to, but someone else did. colin mccahon's poem - case in point. the melody is a first for me. i usually play rhythm guitar, but this begged for a 3/8 melody. this is actually an unfinished version. i had intended to put some winds, strings and brass in, as well as a drum line. unfortunately, time and technology constraints prevented me from doing so. look for the final version on my upcoming album. Recorded at Off The Beaten Path Studios, Corunna, Canada. Recorded with a Samick sunburst-finish 6-string acoustic guitar.
