The last time I was with my father, I knew he was dying, and as I looked into his eyes, I thought, "Dad, your eyes are so blue." We didn't speak that last day together, we just looked into each other's eyes and held each other's hand. I still miss him. | MP3.com CD: Love Stories - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
When I last was with my dad at the clinic, he had been diagnosed with cancer and been going through all the treatments they had available, and we all held out hope that he would pull through. But that one day I was suddenly aware that he wasn't going to live...the thought made me speechless. I grasped his forearm, he grasped mine and we both just looked into each other's eyes for several minutes. In the past we had often told each other ‘I love you’, but now all I wanted to say was "Dad, your eyes are so blue!!" I said nothing, he said nothing,…we just looked at each other for the longest time. And his eyes were so blue! It took me 6 years to finally get this written.
