Lyrics
Thank you Lord Jesus
You, Your in my heart today, in such a special way, I want to thank you, Thank you Lord Jesus.
Lord I want to thank you for the way stopped by
Held my hand in yours wiped the tears from my eyes.
Gave a shoulder to lean on, a hand to cling on
Didn’t even mind when I asked if we could linger on and on
Just a little bit longer,
Lord you helped me regain my faith and even to grew stronger in it
you showed me love showed me r empathy
Lord you make me know you really care about me.
Perhaps, You’ll never know how much that matters
To a person whose life and who’s world has been shattered
By the consequence of sin the devastation of hate
Sometimes you think self-pity can heal, but I know it can’t
You helped me to let go of the pain
You showed me the way but not shame
You changed my life when You showed me the truth
And I’ll never be the same and Lord I thank you.
You, Your in my heart today, in such a special way, I want to thank you, Thank you Lord Jesus.
What’s funny Lord is that we didn’t know it was you.
We just thought you were another traveler on the road to Emmaus who
Was traveling back from Passover celebrated
You could tell by our talk and our walk we were devastated
You asked what’s wrong, why you filled with gloom
We said they hung my Jesus and stole his body from the tomb.
Now we’re lost and confuse and don’t know how to go on
You said “Didn’t Jesus say this was going to happen, correct me if I’m wrong
But He said the son of man must suffer and die
be betrayed and humiliated and then glorified
Then starting with Moses and the stories of faith
You interpreted God’s word, and explained his grace
We came to our stop near the end of day
You started to say goodbye, but we force you to stay
We should have know it was you by the words you’d spoken
But it was until you the broke bread that our eyes were open
And we saw our Lord and Savior so near
But before I could thank you, Lord you disappeared
So now I thank you for your comfort and all I’ve learned
You’ve set me on fire and my heart to burn.
