	Story Behind the Song arr. Mary Ann Brown This romance was one of a group of songs sent to Flory Jagoda by an elderly Sephardic song collector and singer in Skopje, Macedonia (close to the border with Greece), who was anxious to pass them on to the "lady in America" who was helping to nurture a new generation for appreciating the old music.
