Story Behind the Song
This song is about so many things. Take what you want from it. There's a line in Dylan's 'Jokerman' "false hearted judges, dying in the webs that they spin..." That line really inspired me... So I put some lines down that have been in my head for years. This is another two take Gen. Hippo wonder. I just looked at Pete and Brian and said play.
This is exactly what I had envisioned...
Pete "holy brushes" on Drums. Brian on Bass. Chris on Guitar and Vocals.
Hot damn.
Lyrics
Loading Dock
Loading dock egos,
next to a gasoline bridge
Built by match factories,
over the ridge
You won't say
So I won't know
What you don't say
continues to grow...
Loading dock egos,
built over the trees
Watching the wind blow,
waiting for the breeze
He won't say
so they won't know
When you're bleeding,
how much do you show?
Loading dock egos,
pedestal high
All the eagles dared
so did the sky
Captives held,
Captives freed
How many trucks
do you need?
Loading dock egos,
set upon a flame
You'll remember me
but forget my name
Opened wide,
the great divide
Loading dock ego
filled with pride
