	A CD with 80 tracks -- 60 balloon sounds and 20 silences -- is played back on random-select. At the same time the same 60 balloon sounds and 20 silences are performed live, strictly following a random-generated score. Not improvised. Performed by Judy Dunaway. Recorded live at Stitching Logos, Gent, Belgium, June 1999.

	Story Behind the Song In the score of Four6, John Cage instructs each of the four players to "choose twelve different sounds with fixed characteristics (amplitude, overtone structure, etc.)" The sounds are to be played during specified intervals of time during the piece (such as from 1 minute 50 seconds to 2 minutes 35 seconds). A number underneath the time brackets indicates which sound is to be played during that time bracket. I liked how the sounds in Four6 happened against each other in time and I liked the silences that naturally occurred. I wanted to write a piece of my own that embodied these ideas.
