    Story Behind the Song
Friends motivated the song and it is partially a reflection I had of a Grateful Dead concert in 1990. The song was written in 1993 in Springfield Mo. A couple of lyrics were added between 1993 and 1998.

    Lyrics
    Chorus:
    Sing where did it begin?
    Where did it all begin?
Sitting here thinkiing of you, sing where did it all begin.

    v1:
Took a step through My Back yard.
Took a trip with the wind.
Headed for the stars playing guitar, sing where did it all begin.
    chorus:

    v2:
You've got to know sin to be against it.
    Where does the chapter begin?
Sitt'n here, drinking a beer, thinking where did it all begin.
    chorus:

    v3:
I took a plane to San Anton.
    Ended up in L.A.
Met are frien Jerry there, man how the people spin.
    chorus:

    v4:
I'm strung out and I'm feeling stoned.
I don't know where to begin.
Sitt'n here feeling real queer, thinking where did it all begin.
    chorus:

    v5:

Look at the friends all around you.
My how the time passes by.
Sitt'n here smoking a J, thinking where did it all begin
    chorus (twice)
