There's actually no real rapping in this tune; it's more just straight hardcore metal.

    Story Behind the Song
A practice riff that Mike was messing around with; turned into a leading riff that became just a two riff tune, but needed to have a middle break that kepy the song from becomming monotonous; while fiddling with ideas, we stumbled across a 3/4 time bridge based around a simple "jungle" grove that Dan played on the toms. This time transition in the middle of the song presented some arrangement challenges, but ultimately fit with the song perfectly and created an "edgy" build at the end of the second verse. The idea was suggested to use a vocal lead into the tune that set the tone of the song, and again, it fit perfectly. Recording this one was a nightmare: Dan just couldn't get the synchopated kick rythm on the day of recording, and we had a tough time keeping it to tempo. Add to this that the riffs started causing wrist cramping with Mike and Greg after many, many takes, and there was that damn time change to 3/4 for the bridge ("jungle" groove) that kept throwing off the guitar riff comming back in to standard "4" time. Courtney had trouble with lyrics on this one, and ran into a "flat" streak while recording the verses. Mike suggested changing the singing style for the verses from a melodic-type feel to a more rage-oriented approach. Then Dan threw in heavy echo effect for those parts, and voile! It has become one of our most popular live and recorded tunes.
