	The Dark Half covers a wide range of metal styles all in the one song. The vocals go from low end growl, to powerful midrange, then right up to sceaming falsetto. There is a separate keyboard intro that blends into the beginning of the song. Guitars tackle riffery, melodic lines, classical harmonies, solos and clean tone.

	Story Behind the Song Lyrically, the idea for the song came from the Stephen King novel of the same name. Don't look for comparisons, I only read the blurb on the back page! It is the stuggle between the two halfs of a person with a split personality. The song came together over a period of five weeks. Bits of guitar melody had been written up to three years before.
