The Dark Half covers a wide range of metal styles all in the one song. The vocals go from low end growl, to powerful midrange, then right up to sceaming falsetto.
There is a separate keyboard intro that blends into the beginning of the song.
Guitars tackle riffery, melodic lines, classical harmonies, solos and clean tone. |

Story Behind the Song
Lyrically, the idea for the song came from the Stephen King novel of the same name. Don't look for comparisons, I only read the blurb on the back page! It is the stuggle between the two halfs of a person with a split personality.
The song came together over a period of five weeks. Bits of guitar melody had been written up to three years before.
