emo-ish sounding tune about an ongoing struggle to stay in God's arms. this is an absolutly terrible mp3 file. this was recorded on a TASCAM 424 MKII in my room. please disregard beautiful tape hiss! gimme some feedback, even though this isn't my typical style; though i am a emo dork down in my heart of hearts. enjoy. |
CD: like seeing the sun set on the western sky
Label: fuzzy bison records
Credits: music, lyrics, guitar, vocals, drums, other background noises and beautiful tape hiss made by matthew carter and his beautifully nasty analog gear. |
Story Behind the Song
so many times, people get caught in the lie that they have crossed the line with God and they can no longer be used by Him. this isn't the case with God. although He calls us to obey His commands, He still "welcomes us back with arms wide open." noodling around, i found the chord, played a variation, and alternated the two bass notes. immediately, i thought "emo." i love emo music and figured what the hey....after all.....this is is analog equipment. i recorded everything here in two takes per track. there are only four tracks. on the master tape, the song is too warm. i had to record this to a wav file and then convert it to mp3. now it's too hissy. this is also the shortest song i've ever written. i plan to use it on the record this summer as a secondary b-filler. i guess that's it, enjoy.
Lyrics
try
i'm having trouble believing
that you could forgive me
all those times
and i try
and i try
welcome me back
with arms wide open
knowing that soon i'll
run again
but i try
and i try
