	Story Behind the Song This song was one of the first songs written by Ken. It was originally going to be a "slow" song. The lyrics and music were reworked. As a result the final version of this song is much more upbeat. Ken wrote the original and new lyrics. Ken and Mike worked on the music for this song. Ken sings this song. This song was recorded in an unfinished basement using a portable tape player/recorder - hence the quality of the recording. It was done in one take. Lyrics Once I knew a girl, when I was just a teen And I thought that she was the best that I’d seen We passed each other in the halls of my old school She just smiled at me and I was the fool I walked with her one day after class But when I spoke to her, her eyes were like glass She said to me that I was nice But to be her guy I had to pay the price The next day that I went to school I found out that she had moved I felt so lonely that I could’ve died My heart was so hurt I should’ve cried, ow! - Bridge - She was so nice She was so nice I think Why did I have to pay the price?
