If you like sad songs, you'll LOVE this one. The Funeral is quite possibly the best song I've written to-date. Although this recording is VERY OLD, I'm working on a new one that will have much-improved production, and possibly even refined lyrics and a new melody (except the choruses will defintely stay the same for those of you who weep at the thought of the changing of the chorus's heavenly "say goodbye, for one last time"). Hold on to this one and compare, then let me know which one you like better. I had tried to redo this song a year ago with electric guitars, but is just didn't come off as sad enough, so I scraped it after about 300 hours worth of work that seemed to make the song worse and worse each day. But now I'm trying again, with acoustic guitars. Look for the new version coming VERY, VERY soon.

    Story Behind the Song
This song was not intended to be lyrically ingenious, but it does bring out the emotions of a funeral quite astoundingly.

    Lyrics
    the funeral
    -----------
    we gather today
    gather around
    for one soul
    one departure

say goodbye for one last time
as the harps bear music in her name

    the body she bore
    didn't need us anymore
run down with bolts and wire
    she concieved a king
I never meant to make you think
I was never ever thinking of you

    I'm old enough to die...
