Story Behind the Song
I was motivated to write this song from a guitar riff that Doug Krehbiel had in his head.
He played it a couple of times in the studio and the words just fell out of my mouth. It was quite incredible!
From there it took about a day or two to put the finishing touches and we were recording!
Most of the song was completed in one take with approximately 5 punches per instrument.
It's a great song and is a part of an excellent CD
Lyrics
Hey there old man, livin' in your cardboard box
I see ya sniffin' for your next meal
I walk on by, and I flip you a dime
And I wonder how that feels
CHORUS
Tell me, what would Jesus do
With all the pain and the hurt in this world that's a happenin' to you
Oh Lord, help me to choose
What would Jesus do, Standin' in these shoes
Hey there little girl, standin' in your war-torn street
I see you lookin' for your mom
What you don't know is that you'll never see her again
'Cause she fell victim to the bomb
CHORUS
Hey there woman, I see you layin' on your kitchen floor
And both your eyes are black and blue
'Cause your old man goit mad and I saw him runnin' out the door
Do you thin he still loves you
CHORUS
